| Jun. 3rd, 2008 01:19 pm Wisdom "borrowed" from my friend Misty 1. Life is what happens when you're busy making plans.
2. If you wait for the perfect time to do something, you never will.
3. Don't spend so much time planning your future that you forget to live your present. Current Mood: bouncy

| Mar. 15th, 2008 10:14 pm These quotes are from a cute book that I re-discovered on one of our bookshelves. It's called "The Tao of Pooh" by Benjamin Hoff:
"You can't stay in your corner of the forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes."
"Those who have no compassion have no wisdom. Knowledge, yes; cleverness, maybe; wisdom, no. A clever mind is not a heart. Knowledge doesn't really care. Wisdom does."
"When you know and respect your Inner Nature, you know where you belong. You also know where you don't belong." Current Mood: cheerful

| Feb. 26th, 2008 10:59 am Garden Journal Rhodie seeds have been germinating for ten days. A few of the pots are starting to show the first tiny hints of germination.
NEW PLANT: Safflower. So pretty that I couldn't resist trying them. Good germination after a week. There are half a dozen little sprouts in the pot already.
Spring is just around the corner, and we couldn't resist some potted purple hyacinths. They fill the house with such a wonderful scent. And we even managed to find a spot where the cats won't come into contact with them.
This is also the season where seedling flats start taking over more of the sewing room. I LOVE seed-starting time. It's so full of bright promises of beauty (and tasty things to be eaten this summer). Current Mood: energetic

| Nov. 23rd, 2007 10:15 pm A quote from Mark Swartz's column "Pardon my utopian visions (a little too much Thoreau in my literature courses), but wouldn’t it be great if we could basically be who we are, do our best, get rewarded for merit and effort, yet still practice such fundamentals as fairness, kindness, unselfishness and patience?" -- Mark Swartz (www.careeractivist.com) Current Mood: thoughtful

It seems to me that the world would be a better place if more people followed this concept. It's one of my cousin Sandi's favourite quotes. Current Mood: thoughtful

| Apr. 17th, 2007 10:17 am A bit of fun ... I discovered Wikiquote (http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Main_Page) and found the "random page" link to be rather entertaining.
Here's a few random quotes:
[Latin] * Amicus optima vitae possessio. o Translation: "A friend is the biggest treasure in life"
